I’m so glad you are here! I’m Monica, a Spanish artist based in Zurich, Switzerland. I reconnected with my childhood love for paint just a few years ago, and what started as a fun creative activity to relax turned into finding my personal painting style and growing the desire of sharing it with the world. I work on a corporate job and often resort to art to keep myself grounded, creative and inspired. Painting is simply one of the greatest joys for me.

My work centers around flower blossoms in different colors, representing different environments and feelings, but with a common message: blooming everywhere. With my art I hope to convey feelings of beauty, growth, resilience, confidence and calmness. The message is very much connected to my life: I lived in different places, found myself in different environments, and what always follows me is the desire to find the beauty of this world, to be able to adapt, to stay confident and to live a peaceful and meaningful life; to bloom everywhere.

I also find inspiration everywhere: in other artists and artworks, places I travel to, movies I watch, songs I listen to, books I read, or simply from my daily life… I try to canalize that inspiration into the canvas and through my blossoms.

I work mostly with acrylics and modeling paste, which allow me to build texture and layers in my paintings. I usually follow a very structured process: work in the background, then lay the branches, add the flowers, details, and finish with splashes of paint at the end to add a sense of movement and a bit of strategic randomness. This process is for me a perfect balance between bringing my vision to life - through the more controlled layers – and embracing the unpredictable – a more free spirited mindset to finish the pieces.
